Mexico, D. F., on March 5 2014 – Mexico consumers will now have access to their favorite TV programs on their favorite mobile devices with the introduction of the Slingbox 350, from consumer electronics manufacturer, Sling Media. The Slingbox 350, which goes on sale at leading retailers starting March 7th, gives customers the ability to watch and control their home cable or satellite TV programs (live or recorded) from anywhere in the world in up to HD quality on the most popular mobile devices using the Slingbox's patented placeshifting technology.
"Slingbox is the market leader for delivering content over the internet to mobile devices and has received numerous international awards. We are excited to bring this proven technology to the Mexican market that will undoubtedly change the way people consume TV content, both inside and outside of the home," expressed Brian Jaquet, Director of Communications for Sling Media for Latin America.
The inspiration for Slingbox originated from its founders' desire to watch American baseball games live or recorded, while they were traveling on business both domestically and internationally. The technology gives consumers the ability to remotely manage cable or satellite TV services as well as recordings stored on the DVR the same way you would if sitting at home on the couch. Customers can also connect other sources to a Slingbox for access to additional, relevant content including DVD and Blu-ray players as well as security cameras.
"Slingbox is an indispensable product for sports fans who want to follow this summer's World Cup in Brazil or stay up to date on their favorite local team even when they aren't at home to enjoy it on the big screen TV. But it's not limited to sports. Whether you want to keep the kids occupied with a show while traveling in the car or catch up with your favorite TV Novela while on the go, Slingbox delivers your living room experience right at your fingertips," agreed Mauricio Perez, Director of Product for Latin America.
The Slingbox allows you to control your TV in the same way as if you were at home on the couch. Whether it's changing the channel, setting a recording or accessing a previously recorded show from the DVR, on-screen controls on your mobile device of choice make navigation and discovery a snap. PC and Mac users can access a web-based player at www.slingbox.com.mx and SlingPlayer apps are available for download on Android, iOS and Windows 8 from their respective online app stores.
In Mexico the Slingbox 350 will be distributed and supported by Eckhert, who will provide free 90-day phone support and unlimited chat-based technical support in Spanish. In addition, customers will have access to an extensive, localized knowledge base and video tutorial library at www.slingbox.com.mx. Eckhert will also offer a direct one year warranty for all Slingbox 350 purchases made in Mexico. The product will be available for sale with a suggested price of 2,999.00 pesos starting this Friday, March 7 at www.costco.com.mx or online at www.slingbox.com.mx.
